Hm. I’m not sure I agree here. If we are talking about raw body count, yes, then I suppose the last 200 years would indeed be the most bloody. But proportional to population size I am not entirely convinced.
The Mongol invasions of Europe are one such period which was very bloody. Not just in death count but in resulting famine, disease, etc. Conquests of Timur are another point of interest here too. Just some thoughts
